    Updates to BTSF e-learning courses

Some of the e-learning courses in the BTSF ACADEMY were developed using Adobe Flash Player. Adobe will stop distributing or updating Flash Player after 31 December 2020, and web browsers will no longer provide support for the Flash Plugin. This decision was taken due to the decreasing numbers of people still using this software and the availability of more secure and better-performing free-licence technology such as HTML5. Since Adobe will no longer support Flash Player after 31 December, 2020, Adobe will block Flash content from running in Flash Player from 12 January, 2021.

The following courses are already in the HTML5 format and remain available in 5 languages (EN, FR, DE, ES and PT):

    - Prevention, Control and Eradication of Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSE),
    - Food hygiene and control on fishery products and Live Bivalve Molluscs (FISH),
    - Animal Welfare at slaughter and killing for disease control for Poultry (AWP).

The BTSF Team has converted the following courses from FLASH into HTML5 format (but courses are only available at present in English):

    - Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF)
    - Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
    - Animal Welfare at slaughter and killing for disease control (AW)
    - Food Contact Materials rules (FCMr)
    - Animal Nutrition (AN)
    - Animal Health Prevention and Controls for Aquaculture Animals (AA)

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that only the new HTML5 format of the courses (RASFF, HACCP, AW, FCM, AN) are available from 12 January 2021 and AA from February 2021 and:

are still “beta versions” and might require some possible readjustments,
are still being reviewed and updated for technical content,
will be released in French, German, Spanish and Portuguese versions in the coming months.

Brexit content disclaimer The Commission is in the process of updating some of the content on this website in light of the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. If the site contains content that does not yet reflect the withdrawal of the United Kingdom, it is unintentional and will be addressed.
