Welcome to the area dedicated to the online registration of participants in BTSF Online e-Learning Courses under the Better Training for Safer Food initiative.

In this section you can submit your Pre-enrolment application form for the e-Learning Course/s you are interested in, providing some personal data. At the end of this initial step, eligible requests will be validated by the correspondent National Contact Point / Competent Authority.

The BTSF Team proceeds with the enrolment of validated applications on the last working day of each week, by 12:00 CET. Once enrolled, an email will be sent to the address provided in the form with the credentials (Username and Password) to access the BTSF ACADEMY and instructions to log in.

Please be so kind to wait until the next enrolment date after the reception of the email titled “BTSF ACADEMY - Pre-enrolment Validation” before requesting support for access.

In case you have already participated in the previous BTSF Online activities, the new course/s will be available in the menu under "My courses" when you access the platform with your existing credentials.

Invited applicants can request more than one e-Learning Course at once. It is recommended to consider the attendance requirements to ensure that 356 days are enough for their completion, before applying for more than one e-Learning Course at a time. The average dedication per Course ranges between 6-9 hours.

The submission of applications is not limited by any deadlines or quotas.

In case of technical problems concerning the functioning of this form, please contact our team for support at: enrolment@btsfacademy.eu

Step 2. COMPLETE THE FORM

IMPORTANT NOTICE!! 22nd July 2021

We would like to thank you for your interest regarding the BTSF ACADEMY e-learning activities.

If you are submitting the pre-enrolment forms for the following e-learning courses:
• Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF)
• Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
• Animal Welfare at slaughter and killing for disease control (AW)
• Food Contact Materials rule (FCM)
• Animal Nutrition (AN) / (UPDATE 22/07/2021: Not available.Under review)
• Animal Health Prevention and Controls for Aquaculture Animals (AA) / (UPDATE 22/07/2021: Not available.Under review)

We would like to inform you that your credentials (login/password) will be delivered to you in a separate message, on the day the enrolment is processed, with access to the new versions of the courses, available from Wednesday, 13th January 2021.

Some of the e-learning courses in the BTSF ACADEMY were developed using Adobe Flash Player. Adobe will stop distributing or updating Flash Player after 31 December 2020, and web browsers will no longer provide support for the Flash Plugin. This decision was taken due to the decreasing numbers of people still using this software and the availability of more secure and better-performing free-licence technology such as HTML5. Since Adobe will no longer support Flash Player after 31 December, 2020, Adobe will block Flash content from running in Flash Player from 12 January, 2021.

The BTSF Team has converted the following courses from FLASH into HTML5 format (but please note these courses are only available at present in English):
• Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF)
• Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
• Animal Welfare at slaughter and killing for disease control (AW)
• Food Contact Materials rule (FCM)

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that only the new HTML5 format of the courses (RASFF, HACCP, AW, FCM, AN) are available from 13 January 2021 and AA from February 2021, and the referred courses:
• are still “beta versions” and might require some possible readjustments,
• are still being reviewed and updated for technical content,
• will be released in French, German, Spanish and Portuguese versions in the coming months.

We would like to thank you for your understanding and do not hesitate to come back to us for any further information.

The Animal Nutrition (AN), Animal Health Prevention and Controls for Aquaculture Animals (AA) and EU Plant Quarantine Regime for Imports (EUPQ) e-learning courses are not available at the moment. Updating of content in progress.

PERSONAL DATA

Step 3. READ THE DATA PROTECTION NOTICE

Data Protection Notice for BTSF Online training activities

BTSF is a European Commission training initiative to improve knowledge and implementation of EU rules covering food and feed law, animal health and welfare, as well as rules on plant health and plant protection products.

This processing operation concerns participation in BTSF e-learning training activities hosted in the BTSF ACADEMY providing wider accessibility to training in the above areas by using interactive e-learning. DG Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE) is responsible for BTSF policy, which is implemented by the Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA).

This data protection notice explains the reason for the processing of all personal data provided and how HaDEA collects and handles it and ensures its protection. It also details how that information is used and what rights the data subject may exercise in relation to the data.

1. Your personal data is processed in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 2018/1725 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Union institutions, bodies, offices and agencies and on the free movement of such data. As BTSF Academy contains individuals’ personal data, its processing falls within the provisions of the abovementioned Regulation.

The data controller of the processing operation is the Head of Unit A2 “EU4Health and Single Market Programme Food Chain” of the HaDEA of the HaDEA.

Personal data is processed by the HaDEA staff involved in the management of the BTSF of the BTSF Online e-Learning activities.

The data provided may also be accessed by the BTSF National Contact Points (NCPs) of your country and by DG SANTE.

The legal basis for the processing activities is Article 5(1)(a) of Regulation EU 2018/1725 because processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest (or in the exercise of official authority vested in the Union institution or body).

Article 130 of Regulation (EU) No 2018/65 empowers the Commission to develop training for Member State and non-EU competent authority staff.

2. The purpose(s) of this processing is the selection, enrolment and participation in the training activities under the BTSF Academy, as well as for statistical purposes.

In addition, data is processed for the following purposes:

  • to plan and organise training activities for BTSF participants;
  • to issue certificates of participation for the different training courses;

  • to keep logs that include user activity (access time, actions, etc.), which could be used to resolve user incidents;
  • to perform ex-post evaluation of the impact of the BTSF Initiative.

HaDEA covers all needs on the treatment of information for the BTSF. The necessary profile information is generated during the registration process and account creation. The account allows the user to enrol in different courses and his or her profile data is used to track individual progress. The user can edit his or her profile data and request that the controller delete it.

  • Email address;
  • City;
  • Nationality of the sending organisation;

Your personal data will not be transferred to third countries or international organisations.

5. Your personal data will be kept only for the time needed to achieve the purposes for which it is processed.

Data is kept for as long as the user has an active account in the BTSF ACADEMY. BTSF ACADEMY will delete the account following a 1-year period of inactivity, or upon request of the user to cancel the account.

However, we may keep information identifying you for a longer period for historical, statistical or scientific purposes with the appropriate safeguards in place.

Reports containing personal data will be archived according to HaDEA's legal framework.

Nevertheless, where needed, after this delay, personal data will be part of a list of contact details shared internally for the purpose of contacting data subjects in the future in the context of the HaDEA's activities. If data subjects do not agree with this, please contact the Controller by using HADEA-BTSF-PROJECTS@ec.europa.eu and by explicitly specifying your request.

6. You have the right to access your personal data and to request your personal data to be rectified, if the data is inaccurate or incomplete; where applicable, you have the right to request restriction or to object to processing, to request a copy or erasure of your personal data held by the data controller. If processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing based on your consent before its withdrawal.
